Posted September 08, 2018 06:37:30Rainbow Department Store, a Woolco department stores flagship store in Leeds, England, has opened a store in the United Kingdom.
The new store will have a variety of items such as clothing, shoes, and cosmetics.
The chain also announced that it is working with the British government to introduce an additional 100,000 new jobs.
The store opened in late April and it already has a small local following.
Woolco said the store is an important part of its growth strategy.
“We’ve seen the popularity of extreme department stores in the UK.
We know they are very popular and we know that the majority of people in the country really enjoy shopping at these places,” said Woolco chief executive Peter Ward.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the government to create an additional 10,000 jobs in the industry.”
Woolsco’s Woolworths branch opened in Leeds in 2009 and is located in the city’s centre.
The Woolworth store is one of Woolworth’s major locations, which will open a second store in Manchester, in 2019.
Another major Woolworth location is in New York City, which opened its first Woolworth outlet in 2009.
Both Woolco stores have a strong presence in Britain.
In 2014, Woolworth sold off a substantial part of the company to US retail giant Walmart, which then bought the company for $13.4 billion.
