The next time you go to Walmart, you may find yourself looking at the rainbow-colored posters for the “Hands on My Shoulders” store.
That’s because Walmart is partnering with the Pride Center of Orlando to create a rainbow-themed store with the slogan “Hollywood For Everyone” and a rainbow logo.
The rainbow store is located in the Walmart store on Main Street in Orlando, Florida.
It is a first for the chain, which is also offering a “Holidays in Orlando” holiday display and “Gay Pride Festival” that will take place from December 8-10.
The store is also partnering with a nonprofit group, the National LGBTQ Task Force, that is helping to promote acceptance and understanding of LGBTQ people, and will be selling “LGBTQ-friendly” apparel.
“The rainbow is a reflection of who we are as a nation, and it’s important to us to celebrate all who are LGBTQ in a way that’s respectful and inclusive,” a Walmart spokesperson told Recode.
“This store is the perfect place for people to learn more about who we really are and what makes us different.
We’re excited to be the first to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The LGBT-focused display is an addition to the “LGBT Pride” store, which has been a Walmart staple since its opening in 2013.
The store has been featured in Disney’s animated film, The Lion King, as well as other popular Disney movies and shows.
“The Lion King” and other Disney classics are set to debut on the store’s shelves this year, with more upcoming merchandise set to be released in the coming months.
The new store will also offer more LGBTQ-focused merchandise, including a limited edition “Love Me Like You Do” t-shirt and an “LGBT-friendly Pride” bracelet.
