BOSTON — Whether you are a parent or an avid mall visitor, there is a good chance that you have seen a Sam’s department stores or a Walmart on the news lately.
Sam’s has been on the rise in Boston and its popularity has grown.
The store opened in Boston in 1878.
It is now the third largest department store chain in the country with stores in New York, Chicago, Miami and San Francisco.
Its stock has been rising for years, climbing from $5.9 billion in 2003 to $8.9 million in 2014.
Last year, Sam’s added 4,200 employees and plans to open more stores in the Boston area.
Walmart has also been gaining steam in Boston, which is home to about 30% of the country’s population.
In 2014, Walmart said it plans to expand from 7,000 to 12,000 employees in the state by 2023.
So, which store is better?
I recently went to Sam’s Boston and was surprised to find out which store I should buy.
If I am a parent and want to keep my children busy, I would choose the Sam’s.
On the other hand, if I am an avid traveler and want the best value at a bargain, I might choose the Walmart.
