Local departments stores, including Ikea, Walmart, Kohl’s and Kmart, are recruiting for positions in a wide variety of categories, according to a survey by Recode.
We spoke to more than 2,000 local store employees and found that some are starting out with some of the most basic jobs.
In addition to finding out which of your local stores have openings, Recode wanted to learn about your expectations.
Are you looking for a full-time job?
We’ve rounded up a few tips for finding a job you can afford.
Here’s what you need to know about job openings.
Do you want to work from home?
Most people think of living in the office as a bad thing, but in fact, it’s not.
A recent study from the Brookings Institution found that nearly half of people who work from their homes are satisfied with their job performance, according the National Bureau of Economic Research.
The research found that a growing number of people are getting jobs that require less work and more personal time, which can be beneficial for many people.
Some of those people are looking for part-time work or just a bit more flexibility to do things at home.
Do employers care about your job title?
While the number of positions opening is up and down across all industries, Recoding’s survey found that most of those openings are for jobs in the retail, hospitality, health care and tech industries.
People looking for full- and part-timers, as well as people looking for roles in health care, food services and consumer services are all looking for opportunities.
And many of those positions have a salary that doesn’t change every year.
Are your coworkers or customers interested in joining you?
Some people may be interested in working in a store that has been open for a while, but you may also need to convince them that they would benefit from working at your store, according Recode’s survey.
In the survey, we found that 80 percent of respondents said they were willing to work for less than $25,000 a year.
Are the people you’re interviewing actually interested in hiring you?
This could be a problem if you have some type of reputation with customers, or if you are from a small business.
It’s important to ask these questions, Recodes says.
“If your co-workers are telling you that they want to hire you, that’s great.
If they’re telling you they don’t, that can be a good sign.”
Recode has a full list of job openings for retail and hospitality professionals, as it has a variety of other types of positions.
Do I have to be a native English speaker?
The majority of our survey respondents said that they could handle most of the English-language skills required for a retail or hospitality job.
If you have a good communication style, your work will be well received.
Do the positions offer full- or part- time or casual hours?
Some of these positions also offer hourly or flexible work schedules.
For example, some people who are looking to be an associate or associate manager in a restaurant might find it useful to work more hours.
Do your coworkers have to live in your community?
Recode asked a variety in the survey to see if they were comfortable with hiring someone who lives in the area.
Nearly half of our respondents said yes, but not all of them lived in the same community.
The survey also asked about what types of jobs are available.
There are some categories of positions that may not require you to be from a specific area, such as retail and restaurant.
But most of our people were able to fill some of these jobs in a similar way to what they were used to doing.
What if I want to travel?
Some employers have been hiring more and more international workers in recent years, and they are looking into whether you might be a fit.
A study from Nomura found that almost 20 percent of job applicants who had traveled to a foreign country in the last three years had been hired.
Can you find a full time job if you’re not in college?
Many people are thinking about college when looking for jobs.
Recode interviewed more than 1,100 people in 2017 and found some interesting findings.
Some people said that if they want a full year of paid internships, they should consider taking the time to get a degree.
Other people are choosing to work part- or full- time, even if they’re not planning to work full-year.
Some employers, however, are saying that there are no restrictions on how long you can work in an internship.
We’ll be updating this story as more people come forward.
Are there other job opportunities out there?
Recodes surveyed more than 200 different job openings from local to national and found there are a variety.
For the retail industry, the top three areas of employment for many of the positions are information technology, information technology support, and computer support.
